Toovn is a private social calendar for lightweight, passive event coordination. It is designed for awareness first, not pressure. Think of it as "Just putting this out there."
Main Principles
- Events are shared inside private social circles (hoops) rather than public feeds.
- The event creator frames the event with an awareness goal such as 'going anyway' or 'checking interest'.
- Other people can respond without the app forcing a hard RSVP or need to reply.
What people can do
- Create small private circles called hoops.
- Share events with a clear social audience of people they know.
- Signal interest, attendance, or spare-ticket intent.
- Ignore without pressure to respond.
- Subscribe to a private calendar feed in Apple Calendar or Google Calendar.
What else?
- Private by default: there is no public discovery.
- Useful in or out of the app: calendar subscriptions make the service easy to keep up with. You only need to open the app/site if you want to check more detail, respond, or add a new event others may be interested in. Otherwise everything you need shows up in your existing calendar.
- Event Coordination without Social Media or Chat Apps: Toovn is also a great tool for organising social plans for groups who are not all on social media platforms, or who want to keep their social coordination separate from their social media presence.
